After a night of howling winds the next morning I was faced by near white-out conditions. While scouting out the camp for the night, I noticed this gnarled and twisted old snow gum weathered by years of fierce winds and battered by annual snow fall. The tree stands as a time-worn guardian and one of the highest altitude snow gums on the Rams Head Range.

Despite the high winds lashing snow and ice onto the my camera I managed to fire off this frame before shooting became too difficult.
