Description:
It was Edmund Spencer's collection of poems, "A Wedding Song," that brought Vaughan Williams and English poet Ursula Wood together. Ursula Wood introduced Vaughan Williams to Spenser's "A Wedding Ode," which led to the creation of a new work and their marriage. Although composed as a wedding ode, the premiere was not well received, and in 1957, Vaughan Williams revised the "Mask" into a "Chorus". The jacket cover is Ursula Wood herself, photographed in 1938. Tokyo M Plus
