In modern society, Celtic music is widely loved. However, it is not really known whether "Celtic music" really originates from Celtic peoples. It is basically reminiscent of Scottish or Irish music, but in fact it is the music of the descendants of Celtic peoples whose music spans a wide area from the British Isles to Brittany in France, Asturias in Spain, Portugal, and Canada, and each has its own distinct musical style. McFarlane, a master luthier, has created a "Celtic-inspired" album by mixing Irish and Scottish folklore with works by O'Carolan, who was active in the 17th century. The music is simple and beautiful, and is the work of O'Carolan, who was blind but traveled extensively and played for almost 50 years. Naxos Japan
