About the Artist

Sonya Sombreuil is an artist whose work has been included in the Hammer Museum's "Made in LA" biennial and has shown at Bridget Donahue Gallery in New York, V1 in Copenhagen, and Big Love in Tokyo. Alongside her painting practice she founded the clothing brand Come Tees in 2009, releasing limited-edition pieces with a distinct aesthetic of lush colors, jagged brushstrokes, and scribbled poetic texts. 

About the Nonprofit Organization

The Gold Star Society is a trauma-informed, direct-to-survivor platform reimagining safety and healing for those most impacted by gender-based violence. Led by Titeänyä Rodríguez, a queer Afro-Latinx and Indigenous writer and organizer whose work sits at the intersections of survival, desire, and liberation.

Their essential work empowers queer, BIPOC, and system-impacted survivors to reclaim autonomy, stability, and dignity in all parts of their life. Through Titeänyä's leadership, they operate with a holistic approach and deep love for advocating for survivors.
