Beautiful new Pinot Noir from boutique producer Salty Goats, one of our favorite new wineries! Limited.
95 Points Decanter: "The 2024 Salty Goats Coastline Project is a blend sourced from four vineyards: Red Car Estate in Fort Ross-Seaview, Lucky Well in Occidental, Flocchini Vineyard in the Petaluma Gap, and MacDougal Ranch near Red Car Estate, farmed by Carlo Mondavi on a south-west-facing slope. The wine includes 25% whole cluster native fermentation and was aged for 12 months. in barrel, with 25% new french oak, bottled unfined and unfiltered. There is a real 'yummy' factor here, framed by dark , expressive fruit, with black cherry and blackberry underscored by blue-fruit flashes and wet slate nuances. Medium-bodied and beautifully proportioned, the palate reveals gorgeous brown baking spices, Asian spice accents and blood-orange acidity, alongside a deeply floral character thats permeates the wine. A lasting impression of ripe fruit lingers through the mid-palate and carries onto a bright, lengthy finish, supported by a powerful backbone of ripe, well-integrated tannins. Quite a fabulous wine in 2024."
