Translated from the Tsunami Lures Website:
There is a dance called the jitterbug, which is written in English as "Jitterbug." It seems to be a dance with jittery, jumpy bug-like movements. As
an aside, if you were to pronounce this in Japanese, it would naturally be "jitterbug," but for this particular dance, the native pronunciation (which, when pronounced in a native way, does sound like jitterbug) has somehow been used in Japanese. It's a bit strange. I
don't think anyone would disagree that the Fred Arbogast plug named after this dance, the "Jitterbug," is a masterpiece.
The large metal cup attached to the front of this plug creates that indescribable action. However, it seems that the cup was originally developed to dive the plug underwater. Apparently, when it was used the other way around, it danced like a jive. Tsunami Lures' Neo Beats series is an application, or, to put it bluntly, a rip-off, of this excellent system. Of course,
when we first started developing it, we knew we couldn't leave it as it was, so we put a lot of thought into it. We tried various shapes that were unique to our company, and we came up with ideas for imprinting waves...and this happened while we were thinking about it. Normally, a cup like this requires three screws to secure it in place. You also need to consider the shape of the body to match the radius of the cup.
