Trio Adorno's debut album features three hidden masterpieces that are rarely performed. This album, "Hidden in the Shadows," features three pieces that are rarely heard in concert because they have been overshadowed by more famous works. The three composers are Mozart, Martinů, and Mendelssohn. Mozart's Piano Trio in D minor, KV.442, is little known because the composer himself never completed it, and it is overshadowed by Mozart's other piano trios. Martineau's chamber music, especially the Piano Trio in C major, is much less frequently performed than his orchestral works. Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 2 in C minor, Op. 66, the last of the two, is more famous than the first two, but less often performed than No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49.This album features three excellent pieces and we hope you will find them fascinating."
