Tasting Note

Clayface Cabernet is purely made in Italian amphora. Plunged daily by feet & hand, our hand-harvested grapes are left to to macerate on skins for 5 months before being basket-pressed back into amphora pots to settle. Hand bottled on a bright, sunny fruit day!

Josephine Perry out of Western Australia is making some of the most exciting wine coming out of the continent today. Her own words pretty much sum up why she is ideal for Nekter “Single vineyards, low intervention, Margaret River. Making the fruit shine with little intervention.” But the overview about her that was released when she was voted Best New Winemaker in Australia in 2013, captures perfectly what has us so excited about bringing her wines over to the UK.
