"'Lawrence of Arabia' has been a controversial and exciting figure since he first appeared as British Adviser during the Arab Revolt.  this, the first bibliography since 1938, lists and describes everything written by ad about him.  the arrangement is designed to lead the user from Lawrence's own work, through the many biographical writings, to more general material.
the section on Lawrence's own work ranges from the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom, his thesis Crusader Castles, letters to his mother, and his diary (originally published in a small edition), to his lesser known writings and works in collaboration with others.
The biographical section includes such well-known items as Knightley and Simpson's Secret Lives, Lawrence of Arabia by Richard Aldington, Ross by Terence Rattigan, and many other works.  Periodical articles are fully covered in a separate section, as are general works on the Middle East War with reference to Lawrence, and works of Arabic origin.  the compiler adds comments where necessary to guide the user as to the content of an author's work."
