This is the 23rd ECM album by Stefan Mikes, a new age artist who has been active in ECM since the 1970s. He has been playing a variety of instruments that he has collected from his travels around the world. In addition to the kalimba, duduk, 14-string guitar, and his own voice, he also uses instruments from Armenia, Tibet, India, Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Ethiopia, and other countries, creating a combination that has never been heard before. The group performs chamber music in a unique musical world inspired by these instruments in a combination never seen before.
