This round rattan proving basket supports the final rise of sourdough, rye and artisan white loaves at a generous 25cm scale. The woven cane cradles the dough as surface tension builds, and once the loaf is tipped out onto a tray or stone it carries the trademark spiral coil pattern through the bake.
The basket measures 25cm in diameter and 8.5cm deep, sized for a 1kg to 1.2kg dough ball — enough to feed six to eight at the table. From the BakeMaster bread-making range, the rattan is untreated natural cane, breathable enough to wick moisture from the skin of the dough for a crust that blisters and colours beautifully.
