Unreleased live performance of the first Jeff Beck Group in 1967! Rod Stewart's vocals and J. Beck go head to head. Co-starring Ron Wood. Previously unreleased live performance of the "1st Jeff Beck Group" featuring Rod Stewart (vo) and Ron Wood (bass). After leaving the Yardbirds in 1966, Jeff Beck's talented manager Mickey Most planned to release his first solo single "Hi Ho Silver Lining", which became a smash hit. In the spring and summer of 1967, the band played sporadic shows with no fixed drummer, but in September, Mickey Waller (drums) joined the band and the band became the "Jeff Beck Group". The September 26, 1967 show at the long-established Marquee Club in London was just such a time. The show at the old Marquee Club in London on September 26, 1967 was just such a time. There are almost no live recordings of the group before their debut album, except for the BBC show. In that case, we have to rely on tapes that were personally recorded by the people concerned at the venue. This Marquee Club is one of such recordings, but Jeff's guitar and Ronnie's bass are recorded very clearly, which is quite good considering the era. Jeff's guitar pulls the song along with Rod's strong vocals, while a tiger-eye sunburst Les Paul makes the VOX amp thump with gusto. In addition to "Rock My Primesoul," "Superstitious," and "Let Me Love You," which appeared on the band's debut album "TRUTH" the following year, the album also included "Stone Crazy" by Buddy Guy and Elmore James' "I Can't Hold Out," as well as many unreleased songs that were not selected for "TRUTH. The Yardbirds' "Jeffs Boogie" is also performed.The second half of the album includes a live performance at the "Jazz & Blues Festival" in Windsor, England, six weeks before the Marquee Club, which is said to be the oldest live recording of the Jeff Beck Group. The sound quality is poor, but this was an open-air show that also featured Cream and Fleetwood Mac, and as a result, it was the last show for the former drummer, Ainsley Dunbar. It includes a very rare cover of "Some Kind of Wonderful" and a fun encore show of "Hi Ho Silver Lining" with Rod on the chorus and Jeff singing. Eternal Grooves presents two rare live performances from the early days of the first Jeff Beck Group, the original blues and hard rock band that greatly influenced Led Zeppelin and other bands that followed.
