Through Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands, you can find the Great Allegheny Passage over a length of 150 mi/ 240 km. The Great Allegheny Passage bike trail runs between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Cumberland, Maryland. In Cumberland, it connects to the beautiful 185 mi/ 297 km Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Towpath Trail. When these two fantastic trails are connected, it makes for a challenging and stunning long-distance trail between Pittsburgh and Washington D.C. The combined Great Allegheny Passage trail and C&O Canal Towpath will lead you along some amazing rivers such as the Monongahela, Youghiogheny, Potomac, and Casselman Rivers.
