Description:
Since their debut in 1968, the rock giants Deep Purple have overcome numerous crises to remain at the top of the HM/HR scene and have influenced numerous bands. In 1984, the band revived with a golden lineup and released three albums, but Ian Gillan left the band due to a disagreement with Ritchie Blackmore. Joe Lynn Turner of Rainbow joined the band, and the band released a new album, "Slaves And Masters" in 1990. In 1991, the band toured the world for the second time since their reunion. The band's April 20, 1991 concert in Pennsylvania was recorded and broadcast as a special program on PBS (U.S.). This live album contains the complete concert including medleys, encores, and songs from the Rainbow era. The live performances are well documented, as the tour was not as successful as the two studio albums, but sold reasonably well worldwide. This is a long-awaited release for fans of the band, as no live album with this lineup exists!
