Description:

Sousa, the "King of March," contributed to the development of band music in the 19th century. This 20th collection includes "Oh, How Long I Have Waited for Thee," based on a popular Broadway melody, a fantasy from his operetta "El Capitan," a melody from another opera arranged for brass band, and "Farewell," inspired by Haydn's "Farewell," in which the musicians disappear from the stage one after the other. (The last piece is about the musicians who remember that it was their payday and rush back to the stage). Naxos Japan
