A true icon of mid-century French design, the Araignee (French for spider) ceiling/wall light by Serge Mouille was designed in 1953 and remains one of his most dramatic and sculptural creations. Inspired by the form and movement of a spider, the light features five angular arms extending from a fixed central rod, each varying in length to create a sense of dynamic equilibrium and visual rhythm.

Echoing the success of his Lampadaire 3 Bras Pivotants, Mouille applied the same kinetic principles to this ceiling-mounted design. The shell-like shades are as functional as they are sculptural - tilting up and down in a 270 degree rotation with a 55 degree inclination - allowing light to be directed with precision across a space.

This bold piece is handcrafted in France using lacquered aluminium, brass swivel connectors, and Mouille's signature six-sided hardware.
