Description:

The title of the album presented here is "Ormenion". Ormenion is located in the northernmost part of Greece, an area with a long history dating back to the Byzantine Empire, where the borders of Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey overlap. It is also an area where multiculturalism and multilingualism have progressed due to the influx of refugees from Northern Thrace (present-day Serbia and Bulgaria) and Eastern Thrace (the European part of Turkey) in the 1920s. The instrumentation is the same as before. In addition to the traditional folk instruments, a CBR-DIAMOND 800 (a vintage organ circulated about 40 years ago)/Moog synthesizer is used for the keyboard part. This added a psychedelic taste and retro groove. Although recorded live in a studio over a period of only two days, the album is full of intense, sparkling improvisations. The equipment used was an Otari MX-80 24-track analog multitrack tape recorder.Thracian music has fundamentally strong trance elements, but all of these elements are fused together in this live recording to create a completely new form of world psychedelic trance music. This is a must-listen for fans of traditional Greek music as well as for fans of folk music with a strong sense of trance, such as gnawa, gamelan, kachwari, and rai! ●Includes Japanese commentary/obi (2/2)
