Rupert Rothschild stems from the prestigious partnership formed in 1997 between the Rupert family of South Africa and Baron Edmond de Rothschild, who joined forces in 1997 around a single goal; to produce a South African wine of world-class renown. Today, Rupert Rothschild is an internationally recognised premier wine brand. A luxuriously elegant and classical brand that underpins a winemaking philosophy of excellence and craftsmanship.

The Rupert Rothschild wine-growing region sits amongst the northernmost vineyards of the southern hemisphere, and the vines they cultivate here extend over more than 100 hectares. The partnership's estate in Fredericksburg, an historic French Huguenot farm established in 1690, lies at the foot of the spectacular Simonsberg mountain in the Franschhoek Valley between Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek.
Tasting notes: Fresh raspberry aromas with pomegranate undertones and a subtle, smooth, balanced palate with lingering cranberry and cedarwood.

Vinification details: Varietal blend: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec. Grapes delicately crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with regular pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation in tanks, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for 12 - 16 months.
