This is a 30x30” oil painting on a gallery thick, 1.5” birch wood panel. "Grazer's Delight" is the twelfth painting in the Sustenance Series.
The final painting in the Sustenance Series, Grazer’s Delight is a culmination of years of work, encompassing each element of the larger collection. It’s is a top-down scene of a spread of snack foods, assembled by and later voraciously consumed amongst a group of friends. Food is a universal catalyst and glue for human connection, the charcuterie board having become the star of a party in recent years. It’s standing around an assorted snacks table, the more artfully arranged the better, where friendships and connectivity sometimes begin. The painting is intended to depict an abundant scene, reflections, highlights and various elements throughout meant to pull your attention, much like the flow of a conversation amongst friends.
Stand close to the work and see the piece fragment into impressionistic geometry, or stand back and watch it knit together into a more photo-realistic artwork.

The painting comes with a signed and dated certificate of authenticity.
A signature look of the series is how the painting wraps around the edges of the panel by a 1/2”, the remaining depth was left the blonde birch wood. The entire piece, edges included, is coated in a satin varnish.
The photo referenced for this painting was curated and captured by the artist, Hannah Kilby.
