Named in honour of the legendary Barossa winemaker Max Schubert, Schubert's Theorem draws fruit from a distinguished site on Roennfeldt Road in Marananga, one of the Barossa's most revered corridors. The 2024 is the only cuvee in the Standish lineup to incorporate a concrete egg vessel alongside oak, preserving a central core of freshness and purity within the wine's dense, complex structure.
The 2024 season delivered low yields from a dry, challenging year with early frosts and compressed ripening. All Standish cuvees traversed the same 542-day elevage through malolactic fermentation and barrel maturation, with the northeast section of the Schubert vineyard specifically aged in concrete egg. Dan Standish calls the vintage "short, sharp, and exceptional."
Awarded 100 points by Erin Larkin (Wine Advocate), who describes it as "an unbelievable wine" of seamlessness and flow, with freshness and purity at its core. Stuart McCloskey (The Vinorium) calls it "profound, composed and deeply moving," noting that while he does not score wines, the 2024 Schubert's Theorem "truly deserves 100 points, every day of the week."
