Beethoven (1770-1827)
Description:
Beethoven left four string trios, all from his early years, but this C minor Op. 9-3, written when he was 27, already shows the master's own dramatic side. It begins suggestively in C minor, his most dramatic key, and quickly transitions to the joyous C major, but its dark shadows are strikingly audible. The Janaki String Trio is a gem, having won the Coleman Chamber Music Competition and the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, and their debut performance at Carnegie Hall was highly praised by the New York Times. This LP is the second analog release from their debut album (YR-62376) recorded in 2006. Naxos Japan
