This course covers the foundational elements of managing a facility that is covered under the 2025 Minnesota Industrial Stormwater General Permit - MNR050000 (ISW). It covers the considerations of SWPPP writing, inspections, sampling and BMPs. While completion of this course provides the learner with a 3-year certification, MPCA does not require this certification to perform inspections on an ISW permitted facility.

This is an overview of the MN ISW requirements and is not meant to completely identify what "compliance" means to your facility. However, we discuss all the program components that are necessary for a permitted facility to consider. We do not cover sector specific criteria nor identify criteria for discharges to impaired waters in detail nor will elements discussed apply directly to all permitted facilities across the state.

This course is 12 hours long (plus exercises) and provides 12 PDHs.
