This is a 1975 CASE XX 6250 pattern knife. Collectors have referred to this knife as a "Sunfish" or "Elephant Toe". The overall length of the knife when it is closed is 4 3/8". It features beautiful Jigged brown "Pakkawood" handles, Chrome Vanadium (carbon steel) blades, nickel silver round bolsters and a nickel silver Case "oval style" shield. The front tang of the Spear blade is stamped CASE XX U.S.A. with 5 dots dating it as a 1975 issued knife. The reverse tang of the main blade is pattern stamped 6250 and the smaller 2.5” Pen blade tangs are unmarked. The blades are polished to a mirror finish. The Spear blade is etched with an image of a charging elephant. There are some minor patina spots that have appeared with age, with a slightly larger marking on the front blade. This item was from a private collection, and it appears to have never been sharpened or carried. It does not have a box, but is a very fine example of this knife from 1975.
