I spent a few days utterly distracted by the grasses in the island. These three Grasses were proudly perched defiatly on the wall of the path leading down from the chapel.

Perhaps it was the sadness on the island I felt and looking at the beauty and detail of the grasses brought about a sense of healthy distraction.

Chaplaincy on Bardsey this year was a mix of joy and sadness. There was an accident in the island before I arrived and tragically a man lost his life. It happened in a moment.

The paintings I produced reflected the fragility of life represented by grasses and flowers in the field, but also reveal the energy and colour of the island that always brings me close to God as I see His beauty in creation.

It's painted using acrylic inks, pen and spray paints.

This painting measures A3 in size and  is painted on a thin canvas board and can be provided in a home made reclaimed wooden frame.
