Noah Max was born into a musical family in London in 1998. He has already built a steady career as a composer and conductor. He is also a versatile artist, working as a painter and poet. This debut album features a variety of his works. Max's preference for chamber music gives his works a unique style and a contemporary flavor, but there are also lyrical touches that are reminiscent of the style of past British composers such as Elgar, Finzi, Howells, Vaughan Williams, and other great composers. The "Songs of Solitude," written during the lockdown caused by the new coronavirus, is, as the title suggests, a musical depiction of loneliness. All the other pieces are characterized by meditations on the deaths of friends and a subtle sense of loss. Naxos Japan
