Delicate peach aromas come through with a zippy orange note, light honey and then a smidgen of caramelised pineapple. The palate has a juiciness, with a spiced pineapple and peach aroma, guava and mango come through on the mid-palate and a wonderful acidity on the finish.

Without doubt Château Filhot is among the very finest estates in Sauternes. Its architecture, completed just after the French Revolution, is a neo-Louis XVI extravaganza that’s equal to the majesty of the estate’s wines. Made from a combination of rigorously hand selected Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, misty conditions created by the proximity of the river Garonne create conditions ideal for the growth of Botrytis essential for the production of Sauternes.
