Coconut mats also prove to be extremely attractive in the form of an entrance mat. Due to its durable and robust construct, coconut coir fibre has long been a popular material for making useful, attractive entrance mats. Coconut fibres can easily be dyed in all imaginable shades and made into chic door mats. The robust natural fibres have some of the best cleaning properties, while fibre bundles form absorbent piles perfect for trapping and holding dirt. This way, the floors inside are protected and retain their look. Our coir matting is fitted with a non-slip rubber backing which holds the matting firmly in place and prevents skidding.

The care and cleaning of natural fibre entrance mats is simple. Small doormats are quickly shaken out or patted down, while larger mats can be vacuumed.

Our advice: Door mats made of coconut fibres can be left outdoors all year round, but they cannot tolerate constant moisture (long periods of rain or snow) and long periods of intense sunlight / heat. This damages the natural fibres, which is why the dirt mats should only be left in protected, covered outdoor areas. When cleaning and using the mats, they will fray to a small extent, but this is no cause for concern, it is normal and is due to the natural fibres.
