Raffaele Bellafronte (b. 1961), one of Italy's leading contemporary composers, has studied piano, composition, and music analysis. He has taught at several music conservatories in Italy and teaches younger students at the Campobasso Conservatory in the capital city of Molise, Italy. Bella Fronte's works have been performed throughout the world. They have been commissioned and premiered in major concert venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Musikverein, and La Scala in Milan. BELLA FRONTE's music is free, mobile, resonant, and shaped by and incorporates today's realities. It does not belong to any existing or old traditions, but creates a world transcended by a communicative language. The album includes short, concise preludes and sonatas with broad, complex structures. Both works are strongly characteristic of Bellafronte. The performer, Alessandro Deliavin, is one of the most sought after pianists of his generation, with many recordings on the Piano Classics label.
