The EverSave GB/GBC Flash Cart is a development-friendly PCB designed for creating, testing and running software on original Game Boy and Game Boy Color hardware. Using a dual-chip FRAM + Flash design, it retains save data without the need for a battery and offers stable, long-term performance.

With full MBC3 + RTC compatibility, this cart supports projects that rely on time-based functionality. It is ideal for homebrew developers, aftermarket modders and users who wish to run their own software or legitimate personal backups on original Nintendo GB/GBC consoles.

This is a bare PCB module, it is not a plug-and-play consumer product and is not intended for loading copyrighted game content you do not legally own. It requires a compatible flash writer/programmer to load software and does not include a cartridge shell that is needed to insert it into game hardware. The PCB is compatible with GB or GBC type cartridge housing shells (not included).

Q: Does this include games or ROMs?
No. This is a development cartridge and includes no software or game data of any kind.

Q: Can this be used for homebrew testing?
Yes. It is ideal for running homebrew projects, prototypes and personal backup files on real hardware. Note it will not run Game Boy Advance software, only Game Boy or Game Boy Color

Q: Do I need a programmer?
Yes. A compatible flash writer is required. FunnyPlaying carts typically work with Burnmaster, GBxCart and Joey Jr devices.

Q: Does this have a real time clock RTC?
Yes. This MBC3 version supports RTC, it uses a small coin battery to power the RTC functions and hold time. Most games are developed for MBC5 so please check if you need MBC3, real time clock functions were rarely used the most widely known commercial games that use MBC3 RTC are the Pokemon series.

Q: Is a shell included?
No. This listing includes the PCB only. A shell is needed for running the cartridge on a handheld games console, either Game Boy or Game Boy Color shell types can be used with this PCB, the shell assits in aligning the PCB with the game slot pins.
