Along rocky lava outcroppings near Perote, Vera Cruz and Zacatepec Puebla, grow what Gentry called Agave obscura, but now has been properly named Agave horrida var. perotensis. These plants grow slightly larger than A. horrida, and hold many thinner leaves forming dense rosettes. I have seen gorgeous specimens near Perote on a particulary damp and cold day. It is not rare for this area to experience some snowfall in Winter, making these plants hardier than the species, to at least 20-25 degrees farenheit. The solitary rosettes grew from about 1-2' tall and 1-3'wide.
Plants are currently in 5" & will be shipped bare root.
