Description:
Led Zeppelin ended their career in 1980 with the death of drummer John Bonham, and amidst the anticipation of what was to follow, guitarist Jimmy Page, after several collaborations, formed a new band, The Farm, with former Free~Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers. The drummer is Chris Slade, formerly of Uriah Heep, and the bassist is Tony Franklin of Roy Harper's band. The band, named The Firm, began their activities in 1984. The Firm's debut album, "The Firm," released in February 1985, reached No. 17 on the U.S. Album Chart, No. 15 on the U.K. Album Chart, and "Radioactive," a single cut, reached No. 28 on the U.S. Hot 100. Radioactive", a single cut, also made it to No. 28 on the U.S. Hot 100. Before recording their debut album, the band played a concert in Denver, Colorado on August 20, 1984, and began a promotional tour in Sweden on November 29, 1984. The December 8 concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in London was recorded as a special program for MTV and broadcast the following year. The discovery of the broadcast audio master has resulted in the first CD release with the best possible remastering at this time. The setlist for the concert consisted of 19 songs, so this live album is a complete recording of the concert. The majority of the songs were written by Paul Rodgers, so you can enjoy the authentic British rock different from Led Zeppelin, and the enthusiasm of the two musicians for this new band can be felt in this wonderful live performance!
