We've curated a limited run of Aesthetic kits for those who love sewing beautiful garments with thoughtfully sourced fabrics. This kit is designed to elevate your sewing experience - all while creating a timeless piece you'll reach for again and again.

About The Sewing Pattern

The featured pattern is The Universal Skirt - a high-waisted mid-length skirt with deep pleats, a flattering silhouette and a concealed zip for a polished finish. The Universal Skirt comes with three options - Panel Skirt Unlined, Panel Skirt Lined and a Puffball Skirt Lined. 

The fabric provided in these kits will be for the Panel Skirt Unlined apart from the Pastel Check due to the opacity of the fabric although you can choose whether you want to line it or not. 

The Universal Skirt comes with a full-colour pattern sheet in sizes UK6-26. For detailed garment measurements, please refer to our size charts in the images. The instruction book is beautifully designed, featuring clear illustrations and step-by-step guidance. Paired with our video tutorials, you'll be fully supported as you learn how to create crisp box pleats and confidently insert a concealed zip. 

About The Kits

Each Aesthetic Kit includes everything you need to make your skirt, from the printed sewing pattern to premium fabric, all chosen with care. These kits are suitable for confident beginners and experienced makers alike, with fabric choices to suit every style. If you are more on the beginner side, we suggest choosing the kit options that are unlined and then you can build up your experience to the lined version.

• A printed copy of The Universal Skirt sewing pattern; a multi-sized coloured pattern sheet with a 32-page A5 instruction book, all presented in a large resealable envelope.

• Fusible interfacing

INDIGO DENIM

Scroll through the images to see this skirt made up in the same fabric but a different colourway. This gorgeous organic cotton denim is a wardrobe must have. You'll be able to team this with so many things - from daytime to event-ready styling. Please note it is hard to capture the true colour of this denim - it is a deep blue. 

• Fabric Composition: 90% Organic Cotton, 10% Recycled Polyester 

PASTEL CHECK

This pretty checked cotton in spring pastel colours will create the most beautiful skirt for sunny days. Team with a white tee and some trainers and you're picnic in the park ready.

• Pattern Information: As this fabric is slightly see-through, we'll also provide you with enough M&M Muslin to line the skirt. You are welcome to make the skirt unlined too should you not feel that it's too see-through.

• Fabric Composition: 100% Cotton

• Fabric specific notes: Squares are around 1cm in size. Extra fabric will be provided to pattern match.

LINEN CHAMBRAY - KINGDOM OF THE CAT

A beautiful Trudi Flaxweave Linen Chambray in a leopard print of beige, brown, and black. Scroll through the images to see this skirt made up in this fabric. 

Ethically sourced and sustainable Flaxweave fabric. May have the occasional white flecks/slubs due to the natural weave. 

• Fabric Composition: 60% Linen, 40% Viscose

MERCHANT AND MILLS - EUROPEAN LAUNDERED LINEN

Toast - a natural linen shade

This exceptional quality Merchant and Mills linen is made from a special tow yarn which gives it a nice raw, textured appearance. Linen is such a beautiful fabric - easy to wash, with little shrinkage. Hypo-allergenic and Oeko-Tex certified.

• Fabric Composition: 100% Cotton, 260gsm

• Fabric specific notes: The more you care for products made out of linen, the longer they will last. Wash at 30 degrees with a non-bio detergent. Shake out and dry flat. Fibres will relax as worn.

INDIAN COTTON

Another beautiful Merchant & Mills fabric; Indian Cotton. A dream to sew with, light and perfect for skirts. 

Important - due to the width of this fabric this option is only available in the UK 6 - 16 sizes.

Fabric Specific Notes:

• Ikat cloths are prone to slubs and often have ties in the cloth where one weaver ends and another begins. The ties will be on the wrong side of the cloth and are not flaws.

• For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it from running.

• As the Indian cloths are handmade, they are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave or print - this is all part of their charm and not classed as flaws.

Select your preferred fabric option. Some fabrics are only available in limited quantities - once they are gone, they are gone. If a particular fabric catches your eye, don't wait too long.

Europe - We are unfortunately not able to send to Europe this time around due to GSPR Regulations. We are working hard to lift this and be able to send to our customers in Europe.
