Easy Maintenance Design

This low-maintenance filter allows for easy upkeep. You can replace the sponge with any standard-sized sponge that fits; cleaning the bio balls is required only every two months. For long-term maintenance, partial replacement of bio balls is recommended every six months, with only a third being replaced at one time to maintain a balanced bacterial colony.

Air Pump Compatibility

Like other sponge filters, the Hygger Internal Filter operates with an air pump (2w or higher) and airline tubing, which are not included with the filter. Usage Tips

1. Before using the hygger Internal Filter, it’s essential to rinse the ceramic balls thoroughly. To maintain the stability of your aquarium’s ecosystem, use water from the aquarium itself rather than tap water for rinsing.
2. Bio Ball Specifications: The diameter of the bio balls is 1.8 cm. When it’s time to replace them, you can use the same size or smaller bio balls to ensure they fit properly within the filter and continue providing the necessary surface area for beneficial bacteria.
