Tenuta Coeli Aula was first established in 1899 and is located in the rolling hills of Montespertoli, near Florence, a place full of history and renowned for Chianti. It is currently run by the fourth generation of the Barni family who have taken great pains to pay respect to native grape varieties but also to promote eco-sustainable development within the area.  Its vineyard land, olive and grain plantations were awarded certified organic status in 2018, making this just the type of feel good winery we wanted for our exclusive Italian range. 

Chianti Classico is a big step up from entry level Chianti level reds, and is made from only the finest grapes picked within the classic demarcated area for Chianti production.  It is certified as such by the emblem of a Black Rooster or Gallo Nero on the label - which makes reference to medieval legend about a horse race between Firenze and Siena in a fight for control of Chianti. 

This is a classic foodie red, so make sure to get out the charcuterie board and enjoy in the sunshine!
