This is a stave used in the Scotch Whisky production. The stave is from an ex- bourbon barrel, which was used in the maturation of Scotch whisky. 

The holder is designed to hold 5 tea light candles. Each candle sits within a small glass holder, and under each holder is a small piece of Harris Tweed from Scotland. 

As shown in the product images, you can still see the line indicating how far the scotch whisky penetrated into the wood during its maturation, a key element of providing scotch its unique and distinctive flavour.
