The roots of our 1947 Harvester Trousers are in British Menswear. British mens´ Trousers in the 1920s had a slimmer leg compared to others mens trousers throughout the rest of Europe like France or Germany. Other typical features of that era are suspender buttons and a cinch back. This "French Asphalt" Fabric is made of 100% cotton and has its origins in French Workwear. French Asphalt was used as a light summer fabric. Pike Brothers have made the fabric to the original recipe from the last century. Although coming from the workwear field it does have more of an elegant appearance.

Brand

Pike Brothers was founded in 1930 by brother George and Joseph Pike. Their small yet high-quality clothing store was located in the famous Portobello Road, Notting Hill, in the heart of London. Custom clothing for men was their specialty. During the Second World War they produced uniforms for American military forces. This was the time when American soldiers came over to England.
