I love how steadfast and determined this young woman looks; something of a young Joan of Arc about her, and with a halo (the product of an old oval shaped mat, long since removed) imparting her with sainthood. With dark gray painted ground, gold brooch and button and chain her neck, and dressed on what I would presume is mourning attire, with sprig of flowers on her lapel.

8 1/2" x 6 1/8". Loss of paint to the ground as evident, from overlaying mat removed at some point, as found. Othereise good condition, with paper residue on reverse.
