Sagitta is the third smallest constellation in the sky and one of the 48 constellations cataloged by the ancient astronomer Ptolemy.

Around midnight on July 16 each year, its center reaches the upper meridian. In regions north of 69° latitude, the full constellation can be seen during August.

On the tuck, a celestial disk holds the constellation like a fragment of cosmic orbit. Planetary paths connect to form Sagitta, resembling an arrow shot across the universe.
