A gently, tenderly done folk art relief carved panel,  which I love especially for this young woman's voluptuous, sculptural hair do! A lovely face and long neck, too, rendered in profile, conveying a sense of focus, and poise, and determination. With a nicely carved raised frame around her, too, as if she herself were an image, hung like a portrait atop the panel. With some carving to the surface around her head, lending texture, and signed (carved) Hemwind at lower right.

10" x 8 3/4" and in excellent condition. I would guess c. 1940s or so.
