Agnès Paquet is a rising star in Burgundy, who became a winemaker to preserve her family’s Côte de Beaune vineyards. She uses organic and biodynamic methods to craft wines that express her estate’s unique terroir. We think Agnès is making some of the best red Burgundy under $40, but her Aligoté—the lesser-known white grape of Burgundy—is also a standout. Le Clou et La Plume refers to the "clay" (clou) and "feather" (plume) of the plots where the grapes grow, and the balance in the wine itself. Bright acidity, citrus, and white flowers... a perfect example of why Aligoté is enjoying a resurgence.
