Pools – a strange and immersive exploration

Pools is a contemplative experience akin to a walking simulator. Explore labyrinthine environments made of pools, corridors, and silent rooms where observation and listening become your only guides.

The game could be compared to an interactive art gallery: there are few objectives to achieve or puzzles to solve. At times, your sense of direction will be tested in these aquatic labyrinths, but most of the time you're simply... there, exploring.

The game features no user interface, no dialogue, and no background music. The sounds, echoes, and soundscape change depending on the room you move through. Walking in water slows your movements and enhances the feeling of realism and immersion.

There is no traditional story or characters to meet. Yet, as you progress, the world around you evolves: places change, atmospheres transform, and each chapter reveals a new, mysterious space to discover.

Note: No monsters chase you or suddenly appear. However, the atmosphere can feel oppressive by playing on the fear of getting lost, the darkness, or confined spaces.

The base game includes 6 unique chapters , each lasting approximately 10 to 30 minutes .

Pools draws inspiration from internet phenomena related to liminal spaces , found footage and Backrooms , particularly the concepts of Poolrooms popularized by several artists and creators.
