The gel re-hydrates necrotic tissue and in the process facilitates autolysis of necrotic wound tissue in the care of chronic wounds. It absorbs excretions from wounds to facilitate the progress of healing, often difficult for diabetic patients. The applicator facilitates directional controlled application of gel.
