It is often filled with the chatter and laughter of children who have come to watch one of the many puppet shows of Teatrong Mulat, a theater company founded by National Artist and Professor Emeritus Amelia Lapeña–Bonifacio. It is through her zeal and passion that puppet theater and children’s literature have found their place in Philippine literature.
