Exceptional vibration-dampening
The Solidsteel S5-4 was designed for the most sensitive high-performance electronics. Each shelf features its own dampening pad, supported by spikes to minimize contact with the shelf. The dampening pad sits over the acoustic opening in the shelf. This opening ensures vibrating air isn't trapped between the shelf and the pad, but can escape into the room.

Quality construction
The shelves and pads are made of thick vibration-dampening MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). The pads rest on solid steel spikes. The supporting aluminum pillars are packed with dampening material for added stability and to prevent the transmission of vibrations. The pillars, pads, and shelves are coated with a black polymer laminate, which further dampens vibrations.

The four pillars rest on solid steel carpet spikes that virtually isolate the stand — and the components it holds — from vibrations transmitted through the floor. Included are four protective discs so you can place the stand on a hardwood or laminate floor.
