Calendula is prized for its significant healing properties notably for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-lipid effects. Its bright yellow flowers can be consumed, or steeped and applied topically.
Using Calendula in dogs
Making a Brew:
To use calendula topically, you can infuse the dried herbs into a tea. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the dried herb in a pot with a cup of boiling water.
Allow it to steep and when it’s cool, strain the calendula out of the water.
Put the calendula tea in a spray bottle and spray it into your dog’s coat to relieve itching or soak a cloth and apply it directly to the area to be treated. Leave it to dry naturally.
Calendula tea can be stored for several days in the refrigerator.
Using Calendula Dry:
When adding dried calendula to food, use 1 tablespoon herbs per 15kgs body weight once per day.
Calendula should not be given orally to pregnant animals or to cats.
