The different materials and what is on the collage pieces inspired this work. The eye image and yellow/purple colors create a mood of mystery. The different moments that were formed when certain colors or marks are put together on this piece may also make it interesting. I chose to make an abstract painting with an expressionism style because it affords a freedom for mark-making and use of one's intuition that is refreshing. I chose acrylics and paint markers because of its color variety and smoothness. I like using re-used paper tear-outs because they may not only create unexpected color contrast but also textures.
