Not my expertise (what is, really?!), but with its clean lines, turned pulls, paneled sides, and gently rounded corners on the top, I think this tabletop chest is really beautiful, and useful for stashing all sorts of little-ish things. My guess would be late 19th century, and I assume made as an apprentice piece or salesman sample as chests of this scale usually were. Photos describe it better than I can so I've taken a lot.
11 3/4” t x 12 1/4” w x 7 1/16” d and in very good condition. Found in New Hampshire. All drawers open smoothly and close flush. It looks like there is an old replacement to the bottom of the back panel as documented, well done and not a bit detracting.
