Released By Art & Science International In 2016 as part of the 50th Anniversary series of Action Man Action Figures. Action Man is the genuine movable action figure and we are celebrating one of the most popular figure of all time - The Action Soldier. The GI Joe Action Soldier was first released in 1964. It crossed the Atlantic in 1966 as the Action Man Action Soldier and was an instant hit, so much in fact that figures from Canada were sourced as a stop gap measure. This 2016 50th Anniversary Action Soldier, is similar to the first Action Man of fifty years ago, however has the welcome advancements of flocked hair (brown only) of 1970 and gripping hands of 1973, retaining the features and iconic scar of his predecessors. The box art features a Hasbro artist's work, along with side panel line drawings. The new dog tag is similar but omits the 'dash' above the 'A' in Action Man, distinguishing it from it's 1966-1969 brethren. The jacket has a a sewn in 50th Anniversary label. The booklet has AM00001 on the front cover but is the same inside as the 50th footballer booklet. The box is the same size as the 1966 equivalent, but has an inner corrugated card tray which further strengthens the package.
