OFRENDA ("offering") is a Mexican tradition of setting up an altar on Dia de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, for those we have lost. Altars are decorated with marigolds to honor and welcome the souls of the dead home. It is a celebration to honor our loved ones that have transitioned from our world to the next; a time to grieve our loss and celebrate the lives that were lived. Ofrendas are put up on October 30th and 31st and are taken down November 2nd.

This fragrance is both cozy and strong, a unisex scent that matches the warm wood of a mahogany altar with the floral musk of marigolds and top notes of bergamot to round it out.

Fresa Creative is a Latina-owned candle brand celebrating culture, color, and design. More than just a candle, my products are scent stories, meticulously designed to connect people through cultural narratives and memories by creating scents inspired by personal and collective stories. Each candle is crafted to evoke memories, emotions, and connections to bespoke scents, offering a deeper, more personal experience in the home fragrance industry with branding inspired by Mexican snack food packaging. Fresa Creative was named as a reclamation of the Mexican slang used to negatively describe a “fresa” or strawberry—a stuck-up, spoiled girl. It’s a nickname my parents lovingly gave me, one my mom still uses to this day; a metaphor for my life as a Mexican woman being raised in the the rural Midwest - constantly in-between two opposing perspectives between cultures, customs, religion, and gender norms. Fresa candles are an outlet for storytelling, individuality, and connection. They celebrate the beauty of embracing the fragmented pieces of life to create something whole—a living, breathing expression of creativity and purpose. With every candle, I hope to give moment of light and positivity for anyone that needs it.
