Antonio Enriquez has already been enamored with stories and storytelling even before his writing career began, having frequented Zamboanga, Basilan, and Cotabato—places brimming with uncharted folk narratives—where he worked several jobs and fished for leisure. He is the author of five short story collections and six novels, two of which, The Activist and Survivors, were published by the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House. He has been given the National Fellow of Literature from the University of the Philippines, a lifetime award from the S.E.A. Write Award, accolades for his fiction from the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards and UMPIL, a trust fund from the National Books Development Award, and an honor from the Hawthornden Castle International Retreat for Writers. He lives in Cagayan de Oro with his family.
